South Korea’s PIPA: high-friction consent done well
Korea’s PIPA is known for detailed, purpose-specific consent. Generic EU banners usually fail on day one.

The Personal Information Protection Act in South Korea expects granular notice: what you collect, why, how long you keep it, and who you share it with. Optional items should be separable from required items.
Overseas transfers and marketing often need distinct consent. A single “accept all” control is a poor fit unless it still exposes those distinctions.
Product implication
Your consent manager should support purpose grouping that matches Korean notice tables, not only IAB stacks. Store the exact notice version shown to the user.
